Yes, it has been all about me lately. And this is why....
But here's the evidence I am part of a family...my smaller, loving family made up of a Heather, Dom, Rhys and Claudia.
And of course my big family made up of brothers, sisters, nephews, niece (just one!), cousins, aunts, and more...
It was a good birthday. Life - yes, it is good.

Say Yes!
One thing my mom dying taught me is to seize life, opportunities, and friendships.
So, when a chance happened to see almost all of my best friends from High School in one get together, I made it happen this time instead of thinking of all the reasons it would be easier to stay home. Because I am kind of a homebody....
But I went. And, as a bonus, I got to see one my dearest friends from college who happened to be at the same restaurant having dinner with a different group of her friends. Fate was smiling on me.

Friends, Friends and more Friends
I've been very spoiled the last month! I've seen three good friends here in STL: Sheila & Patrick, followed by my HS friend Alison (in town visiting her in-laws) and then college bestie Katy and her two children for a weekend of fun.
It makes me feel a lot less lonely. Working from home can make you feel a little isolated.
And, it isn't something I really expected...how lonely I can get without my mom to call.
And yet how grateful I am for good friends and laughter - lots of laughter.

Seven Years, Five Months and 20 Days
How much do we love this boy?
The other day - he said "Mom, you would have to kill me to stop me from loving you, as I never will."
Kind of an odd way of putting it, but the sentiment is spot on.
We love you Rhys James - and everything you are, have been and will be.
