Easter Egg Hunt of 2014

Yours truly planned the Lane's Egg Hunt this year (really it is the easiest event we put on to be in charge of) and it went off without a hitch. I was so excited that my nephew could join in the hunt. Maybe next year his baby sister will too!

More reasons why I love living on the Lane….10 houses hosted a progressive dinner party to raise funds for the elementary school. It was great to hang out with neighbors and meet other families…enjoy the Colonial Park cocktail and see everyone dressed up.

Why didn't you name me Elsa?

Elsa - or Frozen - fever continues at our home. Rhys wanted to marry Elsa and Claudia wants to be her. That pretty much sums up Disney's clever marketing. Along with some very catchy tunes.

What - You Mean It's Not Grant's Farm?

When I told people we were hosting friends from Chicago and their three children this past weekend - the response was disbelief! Really - five more people in your house?

I said - "Well they are GOOD friends." As that clearly explains to me how 9 people can share 2 bathrooms for three nights.

Response: "They must be."

And they are. The best of friends.

There's nothing like mixing children and clothes and germs, playing Pokemon, and not minding if there is a tantrum here or there, to show a long-term friendship.

We are so lucky to have such good friends like the Nolidans who will cram in with us for two plus days of fun.

Visit every year please! And next time, I promise we will visit Grant's Farm.  :)

Jump Rope Pro

For the Kindergarten Circus event today, Rhys was a jump roper (doesn't really fit with circus but a good activity for active children). It was also just in time to practice for next week's Jump Rope for Heart. He is very excited about the event and has been practicing, as shown in today's video!

Let it Go!

Claudia and I spent four days with Nanny and Grandpa (that's what Claudia has decided to call Ed) and she was in animal heaven. She loves cats and dogs and taking care of each -- here she is with her best four-legged friend Coco.

Claudia also entertained us all with her renditions of "Let it Go" in full reenactment. And she and Nanny watched it twice along with Disney classics like Snow White.

What a great visit!
