Stomach Bug 2 - Oldham Family 1

What's a germ among friends and family? Rhys caught a stomach bug last weekend that brought a whole new meaning to the word Parent. Dom was felled by the bug on Tuesday and both my boys are still recovering. Understandably, we have cancelled any showing requests for this weekend. We need a Spring Cleaning and a Spring Vacation.

Spring time

Rhys rediscovered the deck during our 60 degree weekend a few weeks ago - and now wants to go and explore the great outdoors all the time. We really need spring to arrive - soon!
P.S. Our intrepid little explorer is laid up with a stomach bug. Let's hope he is back to his inquisitive ways very soon.

Happy Valentine's Day 2009

Rhys, Dom and I enjoyed our second Valentine's Day together - shopping at Target, making cards, and going out for an early pizza. Take a look back at last year's Valentine's Day to see how big Rhys has grown.

Summer in February

The balmy 60 degree weather last weekend brought everyone out of their shells. Rhys enjoyed being able to walk around the park for the first time. Jumping in puddles is already a favorite pastime.

Rhys enjoys getting in to boxes, hampers, you name it, and having his mom and dad push him around. He tries to get in himself but hasn't quite mastered the technique. This weekend he was able to ride in a proper wagon, but at home we make due with empty cardboard boxes.

Happy Family at Work

Working at a non profit means that the whole family gets to help out from time-to-time. From volunteering at Book Fair, to attending galas and lectures, Dom has willingly lent a hand. Now, it is Rhys's turn. Last week on Thursday the library held a very fun event with elementatry students performing Aztec dances, lectures about the library's amazing Mexican materials, and, of course, free tamales!
Here is a pic of the happy Oldham family. I think Rhys is a scholar in training already. (And thank you also to all our friends who have supported the library with their presence at events and by volunteering at the Book Fair.)

In the closet

Well, literally. Rhys has figured out how to get in and out of our closets and enjoys going in and finding fun things, like Tennis racquets and brooms, to play with.
(If anyone knows where to find a small broom for children, please let me know. I need to encourage his urge to clean!).
